THE ALLISON HAYES SHRINE OF REMEMBRANCE

  Allison Hayes knows how to get a viewers attention. I have raved about her performances in THE DISEMBODIED and THE HYPNOTIC EYE but she is most famous for the SCI-FI CULT CLASSIC: ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT WOMAN.  It is a movie where you pull for Allison's character Nancy Fowler Archer  because her crummy husband, Harry Archer (William Hudson) is committing adultery on her with Honey Parker (Yvette Vickers)  and is planning to kill her and get her money. Harry is such a slime, he is actually amusing to watch him placate his poor wife   who has also suffered an encounter with a UFO and an Alien in which she gets the affliction of massive growth from.  Needless to say, Nancy becomes a giant herself, a rather attractive one and goes on a mission of revenge against Harry and Honey which ends in everyone's demise.  Anyhow it is a famous film. It may not be the best film, but it keeps Allison Hayes forever alive in film history. 

  Shotgun Slade ran for 3 seasons and the star of the show Scott Brady (younger brother of tough guy brawling actor Lawrence Tierney) played the title character quite well. What was unique about the show is Shotgun Slade was a private detective during Western times. The shows opening theme and closing theme music was Jazz, and like the private detective shows Scott Brady did what is called the voice over where he narrates parts of the episodes. He did not carry a pistol which I found fascinating. Instead he carried a custom made over/under shotgun which had the shotgun in the bottom barrel and a 32 caliber in the upper barrel. He only wore an ammo belt, no pistol. Now to the Allison Hayes part.  Allison plays Franci Longo in the episode called THE MISSING TRAIN. Allison knows how to play the Femme Fatale with gusto!   Allison Hayes is not only stunning in this film, but the film itself is quite enjoyable to watch because it had a great cast and story. It is a combination sci-fi/horror film. Directed by George Blair,  The Hypnotic Eye  features the amazing Jacques Bergerac, as the evil hypnotist.  He plays the part perfectly. He looks like a French James Bond and has a lot of charisma but unfortunately quite evil and he is supported by the evil character of Justine played by Allison Hayes. Using hypnosis he makes beautiful unsuspecting women do self mutilation to themselves. The opening scene of the film is fantastic where a beautiful woman begins to wash her hair with shampoo but suddenly turns on the stove top and her head is ignited and engulfed in flames.  Excellent supporting cast with Mary Anders, Marcia Blaine, and Fred Demara.   I gained a great deal of appreciation and new found respect for Allison Hayes when I watched the film THE DISEMBODIED 1957. It starred Allison Hayes, Paul Burke, John Wengraf, and Eugenia Paul. The poster for the film is just amazing. It is so classic. The film itself is not so good, but the premise is, and Allison Hayes did a tremendous job in her part. She delivered the goods. It would be cool to see a remake. Anyhow this is the film that introduced me to Allison Hayes. My tribute to Allison on the beach.
