Allison Hayes in COUNTERPLOT

 

COUNTERPLOT  was an Allison Hayes movie I really liked because it was shot in Puerto Rico, even had shots inside a famous restaurant named Verney's that no longer exists now so the film is sort of a time capsule Verney's. The film is about Brock Miller (Forrest Tucker) who is hiding out from the police and his double crossing attorney and Brock has a murder rap he did not commit pinned on him. But he has his girlfriend Connie Lane (Allison Hayes) and his friend and adopted roommate, a young boy Manuel, played by Jackie Wayne are there to help him clear his name. I also get a big kick out of the film because my Grandfather, who was a Barber, cut Forrest Tucker's hair and said it was like cutting steel wool. Very challenging. That made me laugh.   I gained a great deal of appreciation and new found respect for Allison Hayes when I watched the film THE DISEMBODIED 1957. It starred Allison Hayes, Paul Burke, John Wengraf, and Eugenia Paul. The poster for the film is just amazing. It is so classic. The film itself is not so good, but the premise is, and Allison Hayes did a tremendous job in her part. She delivered the goods. It would be cool to see a remake. Anyhow this is the film that introduced me to Allison Hayes. My tribute to Allison on the beach.

The best Allison Hayes movie I have watched to date has to be THE HYPNOTIC EYE (1960)

  Allison Hayes is not only stunning in this film, but the film itself is quite enjoyable to watch because it had a great cast and story. It is a combination sci-fi/horror film. Directed by George Blair,  The Hypnotic Eye  features the amazing Jacques Bergerac, as the evil hypnotist.  He plays the part perfectly. He looks like a French James Bond and has a lot of charisma but unfortunately quite evil and he is supported by the evil character of Justine played by Allison Hayes. Using hypnosis he makes beautiful unsuspecting women do self mutilation to themselves. The opening scene of the film is fantastic where a beautiful woman begins to wash her hair with shampoo but suddenly turns on the stove top and her head is ignited and engulfed in flames.  Excellent supporting cast with Mary Anders, Marcia Blaine, and Fred Demara.
